Botox (botulinum toxin A)

Botox prevents the muscle contractions that lead to lines and wrinkles in the skin.  It is used to soften and remove wrinkle lines in areas such as the outer sides of the eyes (crow’s feet), frown lines and forehead lines.  Botox is also used to correct gummy smiles and wrinkle lines in the nose during smiling (bunny lines).  It can also be used to slim and shape the jawline by treating the enlarged jaw (masseter) muscles. Results from Botox are generally visible after 3 days from administration and have maximum effect at 2 weeks.  The amount of Botox required depends on the size and strength of your facial muscles.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are used to gently exfoliate or strip away the dead outer layer of the skin.  It allows new, smoother fresh skin to emerge, improving the skin’s tone and texture as well as imparting luminosity.  There are varying ingredients that make up a good chemical peel.  The peels may be superficial depth with little downtime or medium depth peels with 2-7 days of downtime.  The strength and type of chemical peel recommended will depend on your skin type, skin color and cosmetic concerns to be addressed.

Microneedling

Skinpen is a medical-grade microneedling device that creates microscopic channels in the skin, stimulating the skin’s natural healing abilities and collagen production.  This medical-grade device is able to penetrate deeper into the skin compared to other microneedling devices readily available over the counter.  This non-invasive treatment is effective for smoothing acne scars, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, minimizing large pores and improving stretch marks.  It has little downtime and is often performed in a series of monthly treatments.
